The Competition: In the run-up to the United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP 17) in Durban, South Africa this December, Connect4Climate launched a photo and video challenge on climate change People from the ages of 13 to 35 were invited to share their personal climate change stories focused on Africa around six themes: Agriculture, Energy, Forests, Gender, Health and Water - see all the submission on our Facebook App.
The Action4Climate competition inspired young directors from around the world to send in their climate change stories. More than 230 entries from 70 countries were received, showing a new world of climate impacts, solutions and actions to address one of our generation’s greatest challenges. As World Bank Group President, Jim Yong Kim says, “We will never end poverty if we do not tackle climate change.”

Connect4Climate is teaming up with the City University Hong Kong and the Chiang Mai University to host a conference addressing the role of communication and culture in the sustainable development goals.
Connect4Climate supports Rovio, Earth Day Network and other partners to challenge Angry Birds players of the world to champion the environment and fight climate change in Champions for Earth, a weeklong tournament on Angry Birds Friends.
Green Cross Italy and Connect4Climate, the World Bank Group’s climate change communication global partnership program, promoted by the Italian Ministry of Environment, Land and Sea, are joining forces to bring the climate message to the Venice International Film Festival through a day-long series of events taking place on Monday, September 7th, 2015.
As we rang in the New Year, the entry period for the Voices4Climate competitions came to a close. The entire team at Connect4Climate would like to extend our sincere thanks to all the participants who sent in compelling photos, videos, and music videos on climate change.
Some interesting things have been happening here at Connect4Climate. In just over one month, our Voices4Climate competition has received more than 500 climate change stories from 65 countries and counting. To connect with some local voices, we sat down for a chat about sustainability with a local D.C. band, The Funk Ark—check out the video above. And last but not least, C4C is working out the details of an exciting new partnership.
On September 1st 2014, through its long relationship with Televisionet (TVN), the Connect4Climate program of the World Bank Group helped host the first Interreligious Match for Peace with world-famous footballers, an event proposed and introduced by Pope Francis.
