The Innovate4Climate initiative highlights the role of technological experimentation in the hunt for climate change solutions.
What difference can one group, one company, or one individual make in the massive battle to reverse the course of climate change? Brilliant ideas and solutions come from every corner of the planet, and play off of one another in ways that will surprise and amaze you.
Connect4Climate has managed to present climate solutions driven by individuals, civil society, and the private sector alike. From presenting sustainable design discussions at Milan Design Week to building the first solar plant on the National Mall in Washington D.C. to helping to power the Global Citizen 2015 Earth Day (attended by some 200,000 people), we have continually sought to inspire change, and to cultivate the social capital needed to transition society to a more sustainable future. The iChange competition, backed by multiple C4C partners, emphasized the importance of individual choice in advancing climate solutions.
Frankfurt hosted Innovate4Climate in 2018
Launched in Barcelona in 2017, Innovate4Climate is a valuable forum where leaders of finance, business, technology, and policy can collaborate on strategies to drive climate investment. The second incarnation of “Innovate4Climate Finance and Markets Week” took place at the Kap Europa Congress Centre in Frankfurt from May 22 to 24, 2017. Innovate4Climate has established itself as a fresh point of confluence for government, business, banking and finance leaders focused on shaping the next generation of climate finance and policy instruments

Using the World Bank's online platform Connect4Climate, we hosted a series of live-streamed interviews with climate finance leaders, thinkers, and innovators. The Digital Media Zone also provided a platform for attendees to spread the word on partnerships, technologies and financial instruments in support of climate action.
