A non-state actor is an individual or organization that has significant political influence but is not allied to any particular country or state. Non-state actors can come from any area of society. In this article, we'll be focusing on five key areas: food, entrepreneurship, sports, fashion, and the arts. Within each category, you will find links to relevant information on the theme as well as desired outcomes for the corresponding working group at this September's #Youth4Climate: #DrivingAmbition event in Milan, Italy. These working groups will all aim to productively link the work of non-state actors to the overarching Global Climate Action Agenda.

Food production and food systems have an outsize impact on our climate. Did you know that food systems are responsible for fully one-third of human-caused greenhouse gas emissions? This is not how it has to be, however: we have the power to support planet-positive farming and circular agricultural practices. Transforming our food systems is both possible and essential.
Goal: This working group will draft proposals on how to improve climate resiliency in food systems and how to productively engage the food industry on ways it can promote sustainability and climate-consciousness.
