The ITALY COP30 Branding Challenge invites Italian designers and creatives aged 18-30 to create a distinctive original logo representing Italy's participation in the 30th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30). If that sounds like you, apply either individually or with a team of three by the June 16 deadline using this webform.
Taking place from November 10 to 21, this year’s COP will be set in Belém, Brazil, a natural crossroads where lush rainforest exists in harmony with river and ocean waters. Governments, international organizations, civil-society organizations, private-sector companies, and young people from all over the world will gather here to propose innovative solutions and accelerate the transition to a more sustainable future.
The Italian Pavilion at COP30 will feature a dedicated “Made for Our Future” space pavilion, where an interactive multimedia installation will showcase the role of the Italian private sector in a sustainable future, as well as AquaPraça, a floating art installation by architect Carlo Ratti that will symbolize Italy’s commitment to development in harmony with the natural world.

Logo submissions should take these different contexts into account and be adaptable to various print (e.g., brochures, stickers) and digital (e.g., social media) applications. The logo must include the text “ITALY,” “COP30,” and “Made for Our Future,” and it should be designed for sustained use from May through December.
Submissions should contain (in PDF form) a thorough overview of the logo (color palette, font breakdown, instructions for use, explanation of creative choices), at least two examples of specific applications in the COP30 context, and, optionally, a brief portfolio (three pages max) with a biographical note.
A jury comprising experts from Connect4Climate, CRA - Carlo Ratti Associati, and Italy’s Ministry of Environment and Energy Security and Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation will evaluate submissions based on their originality and distinctiveness, clarity of messaging, thematic consistency, technical quality, and versatility. The winning proposal will be announced by June 30.
The winner of the contest will be invited to the official presentation of AquaPraça during the Venice Architecture Biennale, before the installation’s journey to Brazil, and will have the opportunity to participate in the official inauguration ceremony of the Italian Pavilion at COP30 in Belém, sharing their creative vision on an international stage. Travel and accommodation expenses will be covered by the organizers.
If you’re a young Italian with a passion for creative design, this is the opportunity of a lifetime: Apply now!
